Oleksandr Burov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Senior Researcher, was invited to join the project. The project partners were 15 leading experts representing the following countries: Great Britain, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, the USA, Ukraine, Cyprus, Singapore. The project coordinator is a leading NATO specialist in this field from Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project goal<\/strong>: To collect all the best practice and design techniques and measures that may reduce the occurrence of cybersickness. A thorough understanding of the problem allows for general awareness of potential adverse effects, as well as possible measures that can be taken to avoid or minimise them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The scientific activities<\/strong>&nbsp;of the project was aimed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Making reference to the literature on the topic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explaining the different findings related to cybersickness and the technology which elicits cybersickness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Addressing cybersickness in terms of symptoms and how they can be measured.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Giving an overview of all the individual, technological, and operational factors known to affect cybersickness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing an overview of scientifically proven countermeasures (and some noted as conjectural), from design, behavioural and neurophysiological points of view.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The goal and areas of activity correspond to the official project description.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00abGuidelines for Mitigating Cybersickness in Virtual Reality Systems\u00bb(2019-2021) In November 2019, the NATO Scientific and Technical Organization Research Team HFM-MSG-323 has been established to implement the project \u201cGuidelines for Mitigating Cybersickness in Virtual Reality Systems\u201d (2019-2021).
