DEEP-INVENTHEI project from EIT – EIT NEI and associated partnership with the Business and Innovation Network BIN@
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has launched a new programme to stimulate innovation in higher education institutions (HEIs). The aim for 2021-2027 is to increase the entrepreneurial and innovative capacity of the European higher education sector by facilitating and supporting institutional changes in higher education institutions, their integration into innovation ecosystems, and the active promotion of DeepTech ideas.
The Institute for Digitalisation of Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine is involved in the DEEPINVENTHEI project, which is supported by the European Union and aims to create an international innovation network for talented youth, promote their education and startups in the field of high technology.
The DEEPINVENTHEI project was proposed by a consortium of 18 participants – 11 partners and 7 associated partners (https://eit-hei.eu/projects/deep-inventhei/):

![]() | The project program contains six activities in four areas: Increasing the scale and scope of activities involving students in scientific research and business (Area 1, Component “Training and Mentoring”); Developing interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary support structures, testbeds to promote innovation (Area 1, Component “Research-based training”); Establishing new cooperation and improving the nature, content and types of cooperation with external partners, including business, scientific research organisations, government bodies, non-governmental organisation and other social partners (Area 2, Component “Cooperation and internships”); Creating structures and conditions for conducting innovative research (Area 3, Component “Research-based training”); Developing innovative and entrepreneurial activities (Area 4, Component “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”) Organizing internships in business (Area 4, Component “Cooperation and internships”). |
To implement the defined goals, DEEPINVENTHEI plans to carry out activities related to:
- training and mentoring of students and staff through courses in problem-based learning and innovative research, entrepreneurship education, deep technology (for non-STEM students), and the creation of student innovation and entrepreneurship hubs;
- research-based learning with research laboratories open to students and industry, and the organisation of joint laboratories involving students, staff and startups to create joint projects;
- cooperation and internships, seeking new forms of cooperation and promoting intersectoral and international mobility.
To create and develop the DEEPINVENTHNEI community of partners, the listed activities should be carried out using the skills.move, ECOA platforms, the INVETHEI website and LinkedIn page. The project is planned to involve more than 1,500 people (students, academic and non-academic staff, industry), more than 60 institutions (universities, research centers, companies, associations and local authorities) covering European countries and Brazil.
