Shared Research Equipment Center

The purpose of the Centre is to provide scientific and service activities in the system of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine regarding the deployment, functioning, methodological support, experimental operation and phased scaling of the distributed infrastructure of artificial intelligence for educational sciences with a central technical core based on the Institute for Digitalisation of Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine and subject segments of other institutions of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.
The main tasks of the Center:

  • implementation of applied and fundamental research of digital research infrastructure, integration of artificial intelligence tools into educational research, development of digital research competencies, responsible use of artificial intelligence in scientific activities;
  • deployment and support of the central technical core of the common infrastructure, including computing nodes, data storage, network interaction, means of backup, monitoring and remote administration;
  • organisation of access of scientists, research groups, scientific institutions of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine and partner organisations to the resources and services of the Centre in accordance with the approved regulations;
  • development, testing and updating of regulations for access, resource reservation, quotas, user support, data protection, monitoring, backup and responsible use of artificial intelligence;
  • formation, description, indexing and maintenance of structured thematic collections of educational and scientific, regulatory, methodological and analytical sources for the needs of research in the field of education;
  • provision of consulting, methodological and service support to users, including the preparation of instructions, training materials, webinars and short courses for researchers and administrators of subject segments;
  • coordination of interaction with specialized institutes of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, higher education institutions, joint research laboratories and other potential users of the infrastructure;
  • preparing proposals for including infrastructure in national and international roadmaps, programs, competitions and projects, in particular those related to the development of research infrastructures, open science, FAIR data and responsible artificial intelligence.
