On April 9, the II International Digital Forum was held, organised by the University of Economics (Wyższa Szkoła Gospodarki) (Bydgoszcz, Poland) in partnership with the Polish Ministry of Higher Education, with around 60 participants from universities and research institutions in Poland and Ukraine taking part.
The main topics of the plenary and panel discussions at the forum were digital transformation in education, cybersecurity, the use of immersive technologies, and artificial intelligence in higher and general secondary education. The speakers shared their experiences in using artificial intelligence and immersive technologies in art education, training architects, digitising cultural heritage, methods and forms of using immersive tools in learning foreign languages, intercultural communication, discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on equality and fairness in education, issues of adults' awareness of digital technologies, ways to overcome digital disinformation and manipulation, and more.
For the second year in a row, researchers from the Institute for Digitalization of Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine have been actively participating in the work of the forum. Oksana Ovcharuk, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Comparative Studies Department for Information and Educational Innovations, and researcher Oksana Kravchyna from the same department gave presentations at the Forum. The results of a nationwide survey of teachers on the readiness and problems of Ukrainian teachers in using digital tools in 2023 and 2024 were presented, as well as a study of foreign and Ukrainian experiences in using online games by teachers of general education institutions for the formation of entrepreneurial competence.
The forum has become an effective platform for sharing experiences between universities and research institutions of both countries, demonstrating the existence of common trends in the use of digital technologies in education and, at the same time, common problems, such as the need for continuous professional development of educators in digital technologies, and involvement of specialists from the field of new technologies in disseminating and popularising knowledge about digital tools for education.
