The 21st of August the scholars of the Institute attended the different panel discussions in the framework of the big All-Ukrainian forum “The New Ukrainian School – Start of the Reform and Community Participation”. The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, the Prime Minister, Volodymyr Groisman, Vice Prime Ministers Viacheslav Kyrylenko and Gennadiy Zubko, Minister of Education and Science Liliya Hrynevich, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, Hugues Mingarelli, teachers, professors, scholars, local self-governance representatives from all over Ukraine took part of the Conference.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko underlined that the Ukrainian society sets the background for the economic renewal, for the development of our country. “Ukraine has been waiting for the new reform more than twenty five years. Now it is for the first time, and this is why I am here, and the Prime Minister, Ministers are together with you in order to underline the importance of the start of new program - New Ukrainian School. To make this process irreversible, Ukraine has made her European choice. And we need to strength this process in the values, competencies and in the youth life position.” He stressed: “I believe in the Ukrainian youth. And I believe that this will be done by the New Ukrainian School!”
The Minister of Education and Science Lilya Hrynevych stated that in September 2018 Ukrainian children will go to the 1st form in New Ukrainian School. The start of the Reform was preceded by large-scale training, aimed at creating a new educational environment, developing a new content for education and retraining teachers.
During the conference there was a series of panel discussions, master classes, presentations, exhibitions and working groups devoted to the launch of the New Ukrainian School, as well as for the education system decentralization, development of the competences for 21st century, inclusive education, teacher training, piloting of new technologies and innovations, transparent financing of schools.
