On April 26, 2017 the third English seminar “Open Up!” for young scientists took place.
The event has become a tradition that brings together young researchers in their desire to improve the skills of academic reporting, self-representation, conducting scientific debates in English. The format of the workshop involves several presenters’ performances accompanied by further discussion and debate.
The initiator and organizer of the event is the Council of young scientists of NAES of Ukraine.
This time the results of the researches were represented by:
1. Yulia Nosenko, PhD, leading researcher, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists (Institute of Information Technologies and Learning Tools of NAES of Ukraine). Speaker substantiated the importance of development of high-quality inclusive learning environment in modern preschool education through using promising technologies, including multimedia; presented the results of a survey of 453 Ukrainian preschool educators from seven regions of Ukraine for their knowledge and practical experience in using multimedia resources to work with inclusive group; informed about the creation of a bank of multimedia resources that can be recommended for using in work with inclusive groups; demonstrated examples of multimedia resources for various teaching tasks.
2. Valeria Lazarenko, postgraduate student of the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of NAES of Ukraine. The researcher presented results of implementing the project “Mental map: how space determining our life”, which involves internally displaced citizens of Ukraine. Speaker reflected the following provisions: how experienced events correlate with mental maps of displaced persons; how people who were forced to leave their homes adapt to new environmental conditions; how mental maps can help in rehabilitation and social adaptation of internally displaced persons.
The presented reports aroused resonance in the audience and a vivid discussion. Each performance reflected evidence-based positions and had practical direction. Young scientists demonstrated the urgency and importance of their researches and the ability to present their results in English freely.
